Introduction

The Government of Baluchistan has established three more medical colleges in the province including Mekran Medical College, Turbat through public sector development program during the year 2013-14.

Mekran Medical College (MMC), established in 2017 in Turbat, Balochistan, is a public medical institution affiliated with Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences and recognized by PMDC. Covering 300 acres, it offers an MBBS program with clinical training at DHQ Teaching Hospital, Turbat. Founded by Dr. Naimatullah Gichki, MMC aims to enhance healthcare education in the region. The college recently announced admissions for the 2024-2025 session and completed a faculty development program. MMC plays a crucial role in addressing the medical needs of Balochistan.

The District Headquarters Hospital, Turbat has been declared as attached Teaching Hospital of MMC. In May 2018 the college started functioning and admission od students in 1st year MBBS has been made as per admission policy of Government of Baluchistan. The classes of 1st year MBBS has been started from 17th May 2018.

The Museum, Library, Basic Sciences Laboratories, Dissection Hall with (Human dead body), Auditorium, Common Room for Boys & Girls, Cafeteria, indoor and outdoor Sports facilities including Transport have been provided to the students of the college.

The college would enhance medical education in the province and would provide specialized services by qualified and highly skilled consultants. After having graduated from this college the doctors thus produced will provide primary and secondary healthcare facilities in the entire province.
